Weekly and Monthly Workshops
Family Cooking Class
Our most popular recurring event. Each Saturday, our kitchen team leads a family cooking class in the Roy's kitchen — making dishes inspired by our menu. Previous classes have included making fresh pasta, Japanese onigiri, pizza dough from scratch, and matcha sweets. Every family goes home with a written recipe card and full stomachs. Booking required — capacity is 6 family pairs per session.
Book a PlaceKids Art Morning
On the first Saturday of every month, we clear the Kids Corner and set up a full guided art session for children aged 4 to 10. Led by a local art teacher, the session follows a seasonal theme — autumn leaves printing, spring flower collages, winter snowscapes. Materials are provided. Parents enjoy brunch nearby while their children create. No booking required.

Cherry Blossom Tea Afternoon
For two weeks each spring during sakura season, Roy's hosts a special Cherry Blossom Tea Afternoon. Tables are arranged near the windows to maximize the view of the blossoms outside. The menu features cherry blossom-infused teas, sakura desserts, and delicate seasonal sandwiches. A photographer from the local community attends each session — prints available to order afterward.
Christmas Cookie Making
A beloved Roy's tradition. Each December weekend, families gather for a 90-minute cookie-making session. Children mix the dough, cut out shapes, bake, and decorate their cookies with icing, sprinkles, and chocolate. Everything goes home in a festive Roy's box. The cafe smells extraordinary throughout the entire month. Booking is essential — these sessions fill up within hours.
Our Garden Picnic Events
When the weather is kind — typically from late April through September — Roy's transforms its outdoor terrace into a picnic garden. Long tables are set up, blankets are laid on the grass, and we serve a special outdoor picnic menu that can be enjoyed at whatever pace the family chooses.
Our Garden Picnic events are hosted on the last Sunday of each month during warmer months, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Guests can simply walk in or book a spot online. The outdoor menu features items that travel beautifully — picnic boxes, sandwiches, cold noodle salads, fruit platters, and plenty of seasonal drinks.
Rain cancellations will be communicated by email and on our contact page the morning of the event. In the event of cancellation, guests with bookings are automatically offered first priority for the following month's session.
